NFRA Elects New Officers & Directors
Harrisburg, PA – The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) elected its Association Officers and Members of the Board of Directors for 2009-2010 at its Annual Membership Meeting and Luncheon held October 19 in Washington, DC. The Membership Meeting was held in conjunction with the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention at the Marriott Wardman Park.
Gary Spinazze, VP Vendor Relations, Nash Finch Company, has been elected Chairman of the Board of the NFRA. Spinazze has served on the Board since 2002 when refrigerated foods were added to the scope of the Association. He served as Secretary from 2006-2007, as Chairman-Elect from 2007-2008, and as Chairman 2008-2009. Spinazze is also a member of The Distinguished Order of Zerocrats.
Other Officers sworn in at the Association’s 65th Annual Meeting were: Jeff Thomas, Michael Foods, Inc., Chairman-Elect; Dan Maloney, Publix Super Markets, Secretary; Ray Tarnowski, Philadelphia Warehouse & Cold Storage, Treasurer; John Larsen, Safeway, Inc., Vice Chairman Refrigerated; and Bob Montgomery, Birds Eye Foods, Inc., Vice Chairman Frozen.
Newly elected to the Board of Directors were: Lisa Allen, Ziegenfelder Company; Rod Fontenot, Schwan’s Consumer Brands; David Jones, Kellogg Company; Maria Machita, Pepperidge Farm; Bobby Ray, Allens, Inc.; Mark Thorngren, Unilever; Lou Trujillo, Safeway, Inc.
Elected for a second term on the Board of Directors were: Joe D’Alberto, Acosta Sales & Marketing; Jeff Nelson, Co-Sales Company; Scott Rouse, Tyson Foods; Mark Tarzwell, Burris Logistics; Shawn Welch, Sara Lee Food & Beverage.
NFRA is a non-profit trade association representing all segments of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry. Headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, NFRA is the sponsor of March National Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month, June/July Ice Cream & Novelties promotion and October Cool Food for Kids educational outreach initiative. NFRA holds the annual National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in October.
