NFRA Sets June Dairy Month Promo
June 6 national FSI will hit 23 million homes.
Harrisburg, PA””The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) is making families a priority with its 2010 June Dairy Month promotion, Building Healthy Families. Studies show that bringing families together around the dinner table has many health, social and developmental advantages. Meanwhile the economy has many consumers preparing more meals at home. Combine these facts with the growing obesity crisis and you create a compelling message around the health benefits associated with dairy products.
NFRA’s June marketing campaign will feature a two-page FSI and the Building Healthy Families $10,000 Sweepstakes. On June 6, 2010, the national FSI will be distributed to over 23 million homes, presenting coupons and product shots of the 14 promotional sponsors and the June Dairy Month theme. NFRA’s consumer website, www.EasyHomeMeals.com will host the Building Healthy Families $10,000 Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes will receive attention throughout several outlets, including in NFRA’s Stay Cool consumer newsletter and in-store displays.
In 2010, June Dairy Month will be an important part of two new initiatives for NFRA- a partnership with Mr. Food and a consumer-oriented Facebook page. Mr. Food will focus an entire show on the annual promotion, demonstrating to viewers the benefits and wide variety of refrigerated foods. In addition, recipes and tips will be provided to help consumers take full advantage of the wholesome choices in the refrigerated dairy aisle. On February 14th, NFRA established its Easy Home Meals fan page on Facebook, giving sponsoring companies further exposure among coveted consumer markets. The page offers Fans updates on the newest industry products, recipes and tips, as well as NFRA’s sweepstakes and annual promotions.
Multiple resources will be available for NFRA members to increase consumer interest during June Dairy Month. New Point of Sale will be introduced this year, in addition to the Reusable Freezer Bag, to help advance in-store promotions. Consumer media releases will be distributed to 10,000 newspapers across the country. The June Idea Book will also inspire creativity for the in-store displays entering the Golden Penguin competition.
The Golden Penguin Awards for June Dairy Month will represent excellent promotions in categories for every segment of the industry. Winners will accept their awards at the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in San Francisco, CA, in October 2010.
NFRA is a non-profit trade association representing all segments of the frozen and refrigerated foods industry. Headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, NFRA is also the sponsor of the March National Frozen Food Month, June/July Ice Cream & Novelties promotion and October Cool Food for Kids educational outreach program.
