Raley’s Cuts 25% of HQ Staff
Raley’s Supermarkets, West Sacramento, has laid off 153 workers at its headquarters “” about a 25% reduction in headcount there.
Those affected worked in human resources, finance, operations, sales and merchandising, information technology, real estate and construction, asset protection, marketing and advertising, and legal departments.
Michael Teel, who became the CEO in January, called it a cost-cutting move and said he would be taking a 50% pay cut himself. The company’s executive committee is being cut from 10 to five people.
Privately held Raley’s runs stores under the Raley’s, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source banners in California and Nevada.
