LeanLogistics Introduces Transportation Index; Opens Canadian Office

LeanLogistics, the Holland, Mich.-based provider of Software-as-a-Service transportation technology and supply chain services, has introduced the Transportation Index as a new tool in the On-Demand TMS®.

The LeanLogistics Transportation Index is the aggregation of shipper and carrier market transactions for dry van and refrigerated shipments across North America. Unlike other transportation industry indexes, the LeanLogistics Index tracks contract as well as spot markets, and serves as a basis for Procurement Events and for developing collaborative solutions through GreenLanes©.

Covering more than 97% of all lanes used by more than 50,000 shippers, suppliers and trading partners interacting with thousands of carriers, the Index provides an accurate, real world window into the North American transportation market.

The Index’s proprietary algorithm addresses multiple factors including rate, rate variance, capacity constraints, surplus and deficit market conditions and fuel. The rate index is more current than competitive products. This current data allows a more accurate view of the rate index and trending on any given lane.
