Jose Ole’s Sweepstakes Winner Named
Single dad, an Iraq veteran, used $20,000 prize for family reunion.
NEW PORT RICHEY, FLA, February 24, 2011- A single dad and Navy veteran of two wars in Iraq recently lived a holiday miracle that he still can’t believe. William Hadley III, a New Port Richey, Florida resident – and Scranton, Pennsylvania native – is the grand-prize winner of the frozen Mexican food brand José Olé®’s $20,000 “Party of Your Dreams” sweepstakes. His random selection from 50,000 entries culminated the brand’s year-long “Come Join the Party” 10th anniversary celebration. Hadley used his winnings for a big reunion party in his hometown to introduce five-year-old son William Hadley IV – Billy — to his family, many of whom had never met him.
Hadley, who is employed as a commercial construction project manager, entered the sweepstakes last spring and forgot all about it until he received notice that he’d won. An avid cook and fan of José Olé®’s frozen Mexican snacks, he had gone to its website, www.joseole.com, in search of a queso dip recipe. He saw the entry button and decided to take a chance and participate. His decision was, in part, he said, because his entry would generate a contribution to the 170 Children’s Miracle Network® hospitals – one of which, All Children’s Hospital in
“The great news still hasn’t sunk in,” said William Hadley III. “My mom had only seen Billy once and my two sisters and cousins hadn’t met him at all. Without José Olé®, we’d never have been able to fly to
Leading up to the $20,000 “Party of Your Dreams” drawing, José Olé® also chose 46 weekly winners of $500 Party Packages. Each entry for the weekly drawings and the grand prize generated a $1 contribution from José Olé® to the 170 Children’s Miracle Network® hospitals nationwide, for a total of $170,000. The two sweepstakes were so popular that the goal was reached after less than six months.
“The best part of the “Come Join the Party” celebration is the chance it gave us to get to know our customers better and to partner with them in a meaningful, charitable effort,” said Rob Berry, Sr. Director Marketing, José Olé®. “We offer our congratulations and appreciation to grand-prize winner Bill Hadley, the 46 weekly winners and the many thousands who entered the sweepstakes, took advantage of millions of coupons and joined in the fun with us on Facebook and Twitter.”
