One-on-One Business Appointments Differentiate NFRA Convention

Convention is set for Oct. 22-25 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Fla.

Harrisburg, PA – Better than a trade show, the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention brings together 1,200 of the top executives to meet in one-on-one business appointments. The Convention, October 22-25 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, FL, allows attendees to connect with dozens of companies in just a few days.

The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) provides retailers with complimentary meeting rooms, to schedule business appointments in one convenient location over two days. The Convention structure allows for more efficient and productive meetings than a typical trade show.

From beginning to end, the Convention provides valuable networking opportunities for attendees to make connections and build stronger professional relationships. The Convention opens on Sunday, October 23rd with the sell-out Taste of Excellence Reception, where frozen and refrigerated food manufacturers can showcase their latest products. Retailers will be given a special preview during the first hour to allow for more relaxed business interactions.

A full day of business meetings on Monday, October 24th begins with breakfast speaker, Jeb Bush, former governor of Florida. A General Session presented by The Nielsen Company will unveil a State of the Frozen & Refrigerated Food Industry report followed by a panel discussion of industry leaders, including John Larsen, VP of Dairy, Safeway; Chris Hooks, VP of Meat, Seafood, Dairy & Frozen Foods, Supervalu; Michael Allen, President of Frozen Foods Business Unit, Kellogg Company; Bill Chadwell, National Sales Manager, Daisy Brand.  Breakfast on Tuesday, October 25th will feature Lee Corso, ESPN Analyst, as guest speaker before meetings commence for the day.

For the first time, NFRA will launch a Convention App for the iPhone and Blackberry. The App will offer interactive tools to view the registration list and contact attendees, locate meeting rooms, and more. Delegates who use this app will have the advantage of access to the most recent updates to the schedule, suite locations and attendees, as well as all other Convention information in the palm of their hand.

The Café NFRA will be open throughout the Convention, giving delegates a location to hold informal meetings and sample refreshments courtesy of the sponsoring companies. Once again, the Supplier Table Top Exhibits will be on display near the registration area, calling extra attention to this segment of the industry as they demonstrate their products to potential trading partners.

The Convention will come to a close Tuesday night at the Grand Awards Reception & Banquet with the presentation of the Golden Penguin Awards to winners who developed and executed outstanding marketing programs during the March Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month and June/July Summer Favorites Ice Cream & Novelties promotions.

Take the time to find out why this event is known among the industry as “Where Real Business Happens” and register online at www.NFRAweb.org or call NFRA at (717) 657-8601 for more details.
