Kroger to Close Ice Cream Plant

Cincinnati-based Kroger is closing its Southern Ice Cream Specialties plant in Marietta, Ga., and will consolidate production with other plants across the country. Closing of the plant, which employs 140, is set for the end of January.
The shift of private label production is designed to save costs and make Kroger more competitive.
