Village Green Organic Debuts Line of IQF Veggies

Line, from Asparagus to strawberries, is source from small farmers who plant, tend and harvest heirloom varieties by hand, with processing done at the farms.

For example, each broccoli floret is cut by hand so our bags contain no stems – only full tender florets. The carrots are so tender because the small farmers harvest them by hand. Normally, the variety of carrot planted has to be tough enough to stand up to machine harvesting. Ours don’t have to.”

Neil Millman, co-owner of Village Green Organic explains, “As the food industry moves toward third party certification and transparency, we have a deal where the water, the soil and every fully traceable lot is scientifically tested for microbial, metal and chemical residue as a matter of routine and procedure. This operation is state of the art and we already have certifications from USDA/NOP, HACCP, and the British Retail Consortium which assures good agricultural practices, good manufacturing practices and full traceability from field to fork.”
